Living now far over the Atlantic Ocean I remember LARKHILL as one of the best Point to Point courses that I used to visit with my parents, that and Twesledown were my favorites. Why close it? Has Point to Pointing become unpopular or what? I haven’t visited England at the right time of year to go for about 40 years but would and should really go before I get too old to walk around.

Save Larkhill!

Larkhill is the home of so many happy memories – especially of pc camp. I hope we can keep Larkhill as everyone’s favourite place.

They need us as much as we need them and there must be a way forward: I hosted 10 squaddies from the Household Calvary out hunting last season. The officer in charge said that bringing them out hunting was the only way that he knew of seeing how they reacted and behaved when put under pressure. This was a much needed training exercise before this year’s Jubilee celebrations.
In the past pointing has had an army meeting, races for army personnel as a training ground for such events as the Grand Military. What would they like going forward? There is plenty we can offer even if it just a large donation to an army charity.

Lark Hill is one of the most popular ptp tracks in the country. Holding 7 meetings throughout the season surely this indicates a good reason for the MOD to continue the lease on the course? It is such a shame, they must have just over 38,000 hectares and that’s not enough? Why need the small space of the course? I don’t understand why they do!

We CANNOT allow this to happen!

It would be a great shame if Larkhill was to close. Its hosted ptp’s for 75 years, enjoyed by so many people and has helped
some top jockeys on their way to a profession together with some we’ll known horses.
Surely the MOD don’t want this small piece of land in a vast plain. They have done without it for 75 years so come on MOD, THINK.

It would be a great shame if this point to point course was to be closed by the MOD unless this land is really required for military training purposes. This is unlikely to be the case so it would be interesting to find the real reason why the jobsworths at the MOD want to close down the courses.

Would be a great shame to lose such fantastic race course, we go every meeting, and for me it is very handy as I struggle with walking distance so can sit in the back of the car and watch. People are so friendly and even here top professional trainers say what a fantastic fences and course it.we travel from Poole. PLEASE SAVE ARE COURSE
