* for the purposes of this Award a Novice Horse is a maiden that runs in any race at Larkhill in the current season.Such horses can earn points from that race and from all their subsequent races (on any course – and including hunter chases)
How the Points are calculated
In all Races at Larkhill: 10 points for an Open race winner, 7 points for all other winners, 5 points for 2nd place, 3 points for 3rd place.
In addition in the Best Novice Horse Award only. Points can also be scored in similar P-t-P races on other courses, and also in hunter chases as follows: 12 points for 1st, 6 points for 2nd and 4 points for 3rd.
In the case of a dead-heat for a scoring position, the points for that position will be added to those of the next and divided.
The scoring in all Awards ends when the final race of the season has been run at Larkhill.
